Instrumentally conditioned avoidance by tiger salamanders (Ambystoma tigrinum) to reagent grade odorants

Tiger salamanders (Ambystoma tigrinum) were given pairings of air dilutions of either n-amyl acetate or d-camphor and intense light in a stainless steel and glass chamber using a simple flow dilution olfactometer. Avoidance responses were conditioned to presentations of amyl acetate but avoidance responses did not condition to presentations of camphor
