Neuronal circuitry in olfactory cortex: anatomy and functional implications

Lewis B. Haberly

Department of Anatomy, University of Wisconsin Madison, WI 53706, USA

Recent experimental studies of the neuronal circuitry in pirifonn cortex are reviewed. Arguments are presented that piriform cortex serves as a content-addressable memory for spatially distributed activation patterns.
